Sylution and its partner performed analysis, design, development, implementation and maintenance of Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Veterans Benefit Administration (VBA) Veterans Information System (VIS). Sylution maintained, developed and enhanced the web-based application that provided a consolidated view of comprehensive eligibility and benefits data from across the VBA and Department of Defense (DOD). Sylution developed and maintained web-based applications, developed prototypes for “proof of concept” efforts and provided overall technical guidance in numerous areas.

Sylution performs a variety of activities in support of the FDA’s Establishment Evaluation System (EES) application, developed for the Center for Drug Evaluation and Research (CDER) and used in support of the drug application review process through submission and tracking of Establish Evaluation Requests (EERs). Sylution performs project/program management, risk management, quality assurance, analysis, change requests, requirements definition, system testing, documentation, upgrade and installation of modifications to the EES application.

Sylution team, with its partner company, incorporated the Agile approach for Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Veterans Benefit Administration (VBA) Veterans Information/Eligibility Reporting Services (VIERS) Development. Sylution’s Agile approach helped to deploy a “potentially shippable product” in Sprint durations of two weeks thus having a functioning system much early in the life cycle so business and requirements changes could be accommodated and risks could be mitigated. Sylution worked in VA’s Agile Integrated Development Environment (AIDE) to deliver an end-to-end solution to the customer using a collaborative software lifecycle management of requirements, change requests, defects, and enhancements.

Sylution architects, designs and develops Web Services for Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Veterans Relationship Management (VRM) Program which provides an authoritative view of the Veterans to all personnel who interact with them and their families, and to allow the Veterans to consider the VA as an integrated organization. We develop and maintain common data services based on SOA principles and model to provide greater scalability and enable other enterprise applications to reuse services. Sylution provides guidance on architectural design issues/constraints for selecting an Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) and performs database planning and design, ITIL-based practices and recommendations, web services testing, infrastructure support and integration services.

Sylution performed comprehensive verification, validation and end-to-end testing of Amtrak’s Enterprise Data Warehouse throughout the ETL (Extract, Transform, and Load) process. Amtrak’s Enterprise Data Warehouse holds more than 3 terabytes of data and supports more than 500 concurrent business intelligence users. We verified data consistency and completeness to ensure all data was loaded accurately from the sources to the target Data Warehouse, using industry-recognized tools, conducted data transformation using the ETL process and performed integration and regression testing to ensure data feeds to upstream and downstream systems and critical functionality remained intact. Sylution’s team conducted performance testing by measuring database response times and assessed design and architecture scalability.
